Assessment, Communication, and Fundraising: Storytelling, Collaboration, and Success
Virtual Live Briefings
July 27, 2023 1:00 p.m. EDT
In recent years, student affairs divisions have been more formally charged with assessing programs and services for effectiveness and student learning. In addition, divisions have focused on “telling our story” to internal and external audiences. Institutions and divisions have also faced budget challenges, thereby putting more emphasis on external funding sources. Now more than ever, staff must be skilled in telling evidence-based stories that motivate donors to support the important work of s affairs. Through collaborative efforts, staff can be more strategic in telling a compelling story h student success.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Articulate the purpose of assessment, communications/marketing, and fundraising as individual functional areas
2. Visualize the synergistic relationship between each area
3. Identify one person/unit on campus they can approach about the connection
4. Learn to infuse these principles into practice
