Healthy Colleges Montana

Health, Safety, and Well-being Mid-Level

For nearly 20 years, the formerly known Montana Collegiate Tobacco Prevention Initiative (MCTPI) has supported college and university efforts to reduce use and exposure to tobacco across the state. In 2017, the initiatives expanded its scope of work beyond tobacco to include additional chronic disease prevention areas of concern. With the expansion, the project name of MCTPI no longer accurately described the efforts of our campuses. Healthy Colleges Montana, or HCM, was selected by the coalition as the new project name.

Healthy Colleges Montana is managed by the Health, Safety, and Well-being Initiatives team of NASPA. Please email [email protected] with any inquiries.

About

Mission: HCM is a coalition of Montana institutions of higher education dedicated to creating healthier communities for college students to live, work, learn, and grow. Vision: Be the leading health and well-being coalition for Montana’s higher education institutions.

Funded by the Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program (MTUPP) and staffed by The Health, Safety, & Well-being Initiatives of NASPA, HCM has nineteen participating Montana Campuses including:

Healthy Colleges Montana Resource Hub

The HCM utilizes an online system, HCM Resource Hub, designed to help college and university prevention teams share resources, implement best practices, and learn from each other.  Any member of a Montana higher education institution can access professional development, resources, and strategies for collaborative problem solving through HCM Resoruce Hub. Click here to access the HCM Resource Hub, through NASPA's Online Learning Community. This community allows for the breakdown of geographical barriers to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration.

For more information regarding HCM, please email our project team.
