The last time we were in Burlington was 2016! We are looking forward to returning to Vermont and continuing to provide all of you the opportunity to experience a conference rooted in history and tradition. The Conference Committee will work on advancing their work of offering a connection-focused, inclusive, and impactful experience for attendees. We welcome your feedback as we begin planning your conference. Please share your insights by April 30, 2024.
We are also excited to announce that the Call for Programs, Registration, and Regional Awards processes will go live on Friday, June 28th, 2024. Make sure to add this date to your calendars. You will continue to receive communication from myself and the conference committee throughout the year leading to our time together in Burlington.
As we finalize logistics and solidify plans for the conference, we will be updating this conference website. Make sure to check the website often for the latest updates.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.
I look forward to seeing you all in Burlington, one of my favorite places in New England!

Keynote Speaker
Ferene Paris (she.her) | My Heart Bio
Through the art of storytelling, Ferene creates heart-centered spaces through live performance, interactive workshops, and community engagements. Known for living out loud as a Black Haitian femme, she embodies courageous truth-telling and vulnerable vibes as an artist. Aspiring to make a collective difference within her local Vermont community and beyond – one story at a time – Ferene has manifested over 150 offerings through her storytelling organization, All Heart Inspirations.
Prior to becoming the founder for All Heart Inspirations in 2020, Ferene worked in Student Affairs with new student orientation and residential learning communities for 15 years. She stays connected to higher education by speaking at conferences and visiting campuses to facilitate workshops and perform. It’s like inviting the coolest, queer Black Auntie to come over and just “love on” your community. She believes we all have stories worthy of sharing and will be asking attendees “What's yours?!”
Venue
Region I has arranged special room rates for institute attendees at the DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington Vermont. Rooms in the block may sell out prior to the cut-off date ( October 25, 2024), so please make your reservation as soon as possible.
Reserving a room within the Region I block by using the hotel's dedicated meeting website or toll-free telephone number not only benefits you, it also helps to support the Institute. When you book within our block, you help NASPA Region I keep meeting costs as low as possible and enable us to provide some of the important features meeting attendees have come to enjoy, such as networking receptions, coffee breaks, and off-site transportation.
