2021 NASPA Florida Virtual Drive-In Conference

Regional Drive-in/Small Conference

Join us for the annual NASPA-FL Drive-In Conference to be held from October 14 - 16, 2021.  This exciting and engaging virtual opportunity will support your personal professional development.  This year the conference committee has chosen four focus areas for educational sessions:

  • Career Development & the Trajectory of Career Path
  • Resiliency, Hope, Renewal, Self-Care
  • Professional Career Competencies: How They Help Us Do Our Best Work
  • Current/Post COVID World and the Long-Term Impact of Current issues in Higher Education (changes made because of COVID, crisis planning, budget impacts/financial forecasting, etc.)

 Pricing

$30 for members (including graduate student members)

$15 for undergraduate student attendees

$79 for non-member professionals

Non-members will need to create a NASPA Profile in order to register

Make sure you save the date for October 14-16, 2021.  This year’s Drive-In Conference will feature educational sessions and guest speakers on Thursday afternoon and Friday.  The conference will also include the Case Study Competition and NASPA-FL Social on Thursday as well as the NASPA-FL Awards on Friday.  The 2021 Undergraduate Symposium will be held on Saturday, October 16.

The annual NASPA-FL Social will be held virtually on Thursday, October 14th at 5:30PM.  Additional information will be sent out to Drive-In Conference registrants closer to the event date.

This event is an affordable opportunity for professional development, networking, reconnecting with old friends, and creating new ones!  The 2021 NASPA-FL Virtual Drive-In Conference is open to all student affairs professionals.

Call for Programs

The conference committee is seeking innovative program proposals for the drive-in conference.  We encourage presenters to focus on the following four Focus Areas of this year's conference: 

  • Career Development & the Trajectory of Career Path
  • Resiliency, Hope, Renewal, Self-Care
  • Professional Career Competencies: How They Help Us Do Our Best Work
  • Current/Post COVID World and the Long-Term Impact of Current issues in Higher Education (changes made because of COVID, crisis planning, budget impacts/financial forecasting, etc.)

Proposals will be evaluated based on content; relevance to conference Focus Areas, current issues and the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners; evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives; contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs; and adherence to program submission guidelines.

There are three types of programs being offered at this year's NASPA-FL Drive-In Conference. 

  • 45-minute program within any area of student affairs.
  • 30-minute program on your department’s “Best Practice.”
  • 45-minute session for the NASPA-FL Undergraduate Symposium (to be heald on Saturday, October 16).

Program Proposal Deadline has been EXTENDED to July 16, 2021

Case Study Competition

The NASPA-FL Case Study Competition is a competition for graduate students and new professionals (within their first two years of professional experience).  This competition gives you the chance to apply and showcase your classroom, internship, experiential and leadership experiences all in one opportunity!

Competitors can form teams of two – three people for either the graduate student category or the new professionals category; up to ten teams can compete in each category.  Each team will analyze, evaluate, and provide solutions to a thought provoking case relevant to the field of student and academic affairs.  Participants will present virtually to a panel of judges comprised of student and academic affairs practitioners and faculty. 

Please note: all participants must register for the NASPA-FL Drive-in Conference in order to be eligible to compete.

Registration for the annual NASPA-FL Case Study Competition will open in the summer.

Undergraduate Symposium

NASPA-FL is excited to host the annual Undergraduate Symposium during the 2021 NASPA-FL Virtual Drive-In on Saturday, October 16, 2021.  The Undergraduate Symposium is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the profession of student affairs and to prepare them to pursue a graduate degree in student affairs.  This program includes several educational sessions and a graduate school fair.  In addition, registered students will be matched with Florida-based student affairs professional to complete a mock interview session.
