Leadership Opportunities in the Sustainability Knowledge Community

Region IV-W Region IV-W
July 29, 2018 Shea Alevy Arizona State University

If you have an interest in sustainability and are looking to take your involvement in the profession to the next level, look no further. The Sustainability Knowledge Community (SKC) is seeking a Region IV-West Representative and Communications Coordinator to round out our leadership team. We are looking for individuals who can bring energy and innovation to complement the work that we do.

Our KC is an international organization of student affairs scholars and practitioners charged with the advancement of environmental justice education on college campuses. The SKC has developed a robust team that is providing members professional support, research/publishing opportunities, presentation experience, and networking among a growing facet in higher education.  As a knowledge community, our vision is to see sustainability embedded within student affairs through policy, dialogue, and student engagement. Our goals are to educate, activate, and provide an organizational home for our members. Full information can be found at https://www.naspa.org/constituent-groups/kcs/sustainability/history.

The SKC’s current projects include working with CAS to include sustainability in their professional standards, a whitepaper outlining essential sustainable research for the profession, working toward a zero-waste conference at NASPA 2019, and much more.

If you have interest in either of these positions, we are asking candidates to visit tinyurl.com/SKCBid and fill out the brief form to be considered.

Please reach out to the SKC Co-Chairs, Rebekah Dunstan ([email protected]) or myself ([email protected]), if you have any additional questions. We would be happy to explain some of the initiatives we’re working on and would love to work together to see where your expertise can be applied in the context of our work.

Thank you again for your interest...we hope to connect soon!
