Beyond Disruption: Building Creative and Innovative Campuses is a follow-up book to the 2020 publication Disruptive Transformation: Leading Creative and Innovative Teams in Higher Education, which explored the journey toward becoming a creative and innovative leader. That text underscored the critical intersection of access, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (AJEDI) with creativity in higher education. Beyond Disruption aims to build upon the commitment to creativity and AJEDI by equipping practitioners, faculty, and leaders with the necessary tools to cultivate creative and inclusive organizations, campuses, and universities. The book will explore viewpoints from educators and student affairs professionals that will foster and equip current and aspirational leaders with the tools they need for visionary and transformational campus leadership

This book will fill gaps left by existing titles, offering practical strategies for fostering creativity, innovation, and inclusion in higher education. It will include case studies, artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, and frameworks for innovative policy changes and pedagogical approaches. The book will be published by NASPA–Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, the leading voice for the student affairs profession worldwide.

 

Proposal Submission Process

Individuals interested in proposing a chapter should complete the Proposal Submission Form. Prospective authors will be asked to provide the following:

  • Contact information for corresponding author and coauthors.
  • Chapter title and 500-word abstract outlining the chapter, including relevant current research, concepts, and evidence-informed best practices.
  • Summary of author(s) qualifications with regard to the chapter and book topic.

Special Features

The book will include reflective exercises, templates, hands-on activities, paradigms, to-do lists, and models applicable to various campus settings. An accompanying app will provide additional resources. The goal of each chapter is to include a mid- to senior-level professional, or a top role in student affairs, with a faculty member.

 

Audience

This book is intended for mid- and upper-level leaders in higher education, faculty, and faculty administration. A secondary audience is current and aspiring leaders at any career stage.
