Outstanding Program of the Year  

This award seeks to honor two high performing teams that embody one of the most important tenets of successful coaching programs and services: collaboration. High performing teams use the individual talents of team members to overcome obstacles and make progress toward the team’s or unit’sgoals to support their students through coaching. These teams are innovative, adapting their services/processes when necessary to meet the changing needs of today’s students. This program or service has changed the landscape of the university and of the student body by highlighting the importance towards coaching. 

Eligibility 

  • Teams must be from institutions that are NASPA members. 

  • Nominees must demonstrate the adherence of NASPA professional standards while advancing the field of success coaching. 

  • Teams do not have to be members of the same department but must be a group of employees working towards a shared vision. 

  • The nominees must demonstrate how they have changed the landscape of the university and of the student body by highlighting the importance of coaching. 

  • Nominees must demonstrate their unique contributions to success coaching while enhancing the holistic development of their department, students, and/or adjacent communities. 

  • Describe how the team models active collaboration and leverage everyone’s strengths and contributions, and demonstrate, mutual respect, inclusivity, and trust.  

 Award 

  • The Outstanding Program of the Year award will receive a certificate and a small token of appreciation from the KC. The award will be presented at the 2024 Annual Conference in Seattle.

Nomination Form 

Nominators or applicants will be asked to provide the following information for the recipientbe considered for this award.  

  • Information for all team members (Names, positions, email address, and unit name) 

  • Brief citation (100-word limit): Summary describing the achievements of the nominee and how they meet the criteria. In writing the citation copy, please compose it to be read aloud easily at the awards ceremony. 

Award Rationale 
  • How has the nominee demonstrated the criteria listed in the award description? 

  • Evidence that shows how the nominee changed the landscape of the university and/or the student body by highlighting the importance towards coaching. 

  • Describe the team’s unique contributions to success coaching while enhancing the holistic development of their department, students, and/or adjacent communities. 

  • Describe how the team models active collaboration and leverage everyone’s strengths and contributions, and demonstrate, mutual respect, inclusivity, and trust.  

 Selection 

  • The award recipients will be selected based on the merit of the award, their alignment to NASPA and the SCKC’s values, and impact of their work.
