Jason B. Pina is the Senior Vice President for University Life at New York University. Dr. Pina has served higher education for over 30 years. Most recently in senior student affairs, enrollment, and diversity roles at Ohio University, Bridgewater State University, the University of Rhode Island, and Roger Williams University. As a former NASPA Board of Directors member, he was the 2019 and 2020 NASPA National Conference Chair. NASPA named Pina a Pillar of the Profession in 2022. OCPA recognized him with the Phillip A. Tripp Award for Distinguished Service in 2020 and the Gerald L. Saddlemirre Mentor Award in 2019. In addition to serving on national higher education boards and various institute faculty, Pina has authored several articles and book chapters and is the co-editor of AVP: Leading from the Unique Role of Associate/Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. Pina is also a contributor and co-editor of the forthcoming book The Next Act: Realigning Your Mindset, Purpose, and Career. Pina holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University, a Master’s and Specialist’s degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Occidental College.
