Our Guiding Principles AzNASPA is guided by three principles in fulfillment of its Vision and Mission. Access We commit to quality, affordable, statewide programming by continuously evaluating and aligning with intentional, equitable practices. Inclusion We recognize all identities and life/lived experiences by promoting shared acknowledgement, perspective-taking, participation, and connection. Learning & Empowerment We encourage discovery, advocacy, and development by coordinating learning opportunities grounded in community experiences, best practices, thought, research, and theory.   Our Strategic Priorities The Strategic Plan begins Spring 2023 and ends Spring 2026. To organize AzNASPA’s decisions within this timeframe, three priorities have been identified. Connection Cultivate a sense of community and belonging among members. Professional Development Create opportunities for members to continuously learn and lead. Advocacy Amplify the experiences and needs of members, as well as the identities they hold and communities they serve.

The 2024 AzNASPA Drive-in Conference on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Paradise Valley Community College from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.. Below you will find more information, including an itinerary/agenda.

Our conference theme is Exploring the Student Affairs Multiverse: What's Next for Arizona? Just as the multiverses show us how unique choices shape reality, so too does student affairs face turning points and key issues that will affect the work we do in the coming years. Attendees will leave this conference considering possible directions our profession could go in the realms of DEI, student engagement, mental health/wellness, and professional development.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Jenni Heath graduated from Coolidge High School and continued her education at Northern Arizona University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education, a master’s degree in Educational Counseling and Human Relations and her doctorate in Higher Education Leadership. Jenni taught second grade and was the parent liaison for the 21st Century grant for the Coolidge district for several years before moving to Austin, TX where she was the director for a Child Development Center. She then returned to Arizona and began her career in Student Services as a grant director for TRIO SSS and Title V grants, Director for Student Retention and then Dean of Students for CAC. Before being hired full time for CAC, she was a stay-at-home mom while teaching Psychology and Counseling & Personal Development for the college. She currently holds the title of Vice President of Student Services at CAC. Jenni has been employed in an education setting for over 20 years and loves working with students of all ages to reach their academic and career goals. She is a 2009 graduate of the Hispanic Leadership Institute, a 2019 National Community College Hispanic Council Fellow and is active on the executive boards for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor, Against Abuse, Arizona Women in Higher Education, and the National Community College Hispanic Council.

One of our Guiding Principles is Access. We are committed to providing quality, affordable, statewide programming. To this end, we haven’t increased our cost of attendance for this event since 2019. Below are the registration rates based on NASPA membership status and registration deadlines. Non-NASPA Members may need to create an account with NASPA to register but membership is not required to attend.
