Region II Awards Luncheon

As student affairs professionals and NASPA members, we strive to offer leadership, scholarship, and professional development to the student affairs profession at our regional conference. Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:  session content, the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs, evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives, contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs, connection to the conference mission statement, and adherence to program submission guidelines. Don’t hesitate to focus on building community in your sessions or using different presentation methods.

The NASPA Region II Conference Mission Statement:

The Mission of the NASPA Region II Conference is to connect members of the region 2 student affairs community by creating a conference experience that integrates integrity, innovation, inclusion and inquiry. We strive to help participants create networks to share the rewards and challenges of educating college students.

Program submissions are being accepted for the following program formats:

  • General Interest Session: (50-minute session) This program type allows maximum time for the presentation of information, and limited time for questions about the presentation. You should plan for 40 minutes of content and 10 minutes of question and answer.
  • Learning Lab Session: (20- minutes) This program is a great way to showcase a unique or successful idea, program, or service that your institution offers. This program is intended to be more of an informational session to teach other attendees about best practices in the field or a successful idea, program, or service. This is an opportunity for you to present and share your expertise. The learning lab is more compact than the General Interest Session because less audience interaction is expected. The learning lab session focuses on best practices while SASpeaks focuses on philosophy, inspiration, and motivation.
  • SASpeaks: (10-minute session) Similar to a "TED" Talk, SA Speaks are 10-15-minute sessions where a presenter speaks on a topic of interest to Student Affairs professionals focused on an identified theme.

Call for Programs (Deadline: February 6, 2022)

Collaborate with other colleagues or develop your own proposal and submit your program at this 2022 Program Proposal Submission link prior to the deadline of February 6, 2022.

Call for Reviewers (Deadline: February 6, 2022)
Help us build a robust conference program by volunteering to review the program proposals submitted by fellow professionals from the region. Reviewer feedback is critical to the educational program selection process and to ensure the conference has the breadth and depth that we have come to expect from our regional conferences.

Reviewers will begin being assigned programs to review electronically within two days of closing the call for programs. Volunteers then will have two weeks to complete their program reviews. If you would like to be a Program Proposal Reviewer for the NASPA Region II Conference Educational Program sessions, please complete the program reviewer registration form.

If you have any questions regarding educational sessions or the reviewer selection process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
