From Words to Action in the Midst of National Racism and Police Brutality

Join Dr. Marybeth Gasman, professor of higher education in the graduate school of education at the University of Pennsylvania for a session to help student affairs professionals move from words to action in the face of racism and police brutality. This live briefing will take place on August 4 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. EDT.
In this session, participants will:
- gather in an online space for community, processing, healing and for a solution strategy discussion to respond to the recent events of racial injustice in America
- understand how to become more comfortable using their privileged identities to be a voice and active supporter for historically marginalized identity groups
- learn best practices to include the narratives of others to help create awareness, facilitate change and take action on college campuses
- learn how to be supportive of students and colleagues impacted by racial injustice
