Shabana Manji has worked at the University of Central Asia since 2016. Currently, Shabana is the Manager of Student Affairs in Khorog. The University of Central Asia is a start-up university for mountainous regions in Central Asia. Shabana was part of the team that launched the physical build and the official inaugurations of both the Naryn, Kyrgyzstan and Khorog, Tajikistan campuses and is a member of the Core Campus Management Team; the Campus Emergency Response Team; the School of Arts and Sciences Management Committee; the Selection Committee; Academic Committee of the Academic Council; Chair of the Disciplinary Committee and the Convocation Lead. She also organizes and executes the Connecting to Your Discipline third semester for preparatory program students at UCA's Naryn and Khorog campuses. With this program, she has brought many facilitators to UCA – most notably, Ali Velshi, MSNBC Anchor and Business Correspondent for NBC news and MSNBC.
Manji is also a Board Member and Country Representative for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia (MENASA) region for the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). She holds an undergraduate degree in Humanities from the University of Lethbridge and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Royal Roads University. Prior to joining UCA, Manji worked at the Aga Khan Foundation, Canada in Public Affairs. She has also worked in various capacities with students and university administration at Mount Royal University, the University of Lethbridge and the Government of Alberta. In addition, Manji is also certified in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
