Ken Guan, EdD is the co-chair for the NASPA International Education Knowledge Community. He is a public speaker for student engagement and success. Ken earned his doctorate in higher education specializing in human resources management and organizational behavior, along with an institutional research certificate from Indiana University Bloomington. His dissertation focused on assessing institutional efforts to build culturally engaging environments and to support international and domestic undergraduate students in the U.S. 


Ken’s background uniquely intersects student success, engagement, and remote learning technology. He began his career in residential life, eventually started designing curricula for undergraduate international students related to their retention and graduation and taught intercultural academic and co-curricular courses. Later, Ken conducted research on learning analytics and was an instructional consultant helping faculty and staff incorporate technology into the classroom to facilitate student learning. Ken is currently responsible for developing a full co-curriculum of international student success program in addition to orientation and advising international students as a Designated School Official (DSO) at Berklee College of Music. Ken is a singer with professional opera training, and an outdoor adventure enthusiast.
