Dr. Felicia McGinty leads and directs day-to-day, nonacademic operations of Rutgers University–New Brunswick, including space management, infrastructure development, policy implementation, and other critical functions that support the student experience and advance the Rutgers University–New Brunswick academic, research and service mission. McGinty has a distinguished background with more than 30 years of professional experience in higher education administration, as well as a notable record of public service. As a seasoned administrator, she leads with a forward-thinking, student-centered philosophy to enhance the co-curricular experience and promote student success.
Dr. McGinty joined Rutgers University – New Brunswick in August 2013 as the vice chancellor for student affairs, where she provided leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the large and complex division of student affairs. She is a trailblazer in sexual violence education, advocacy and prevention. Under her leadership, Rutgers University–New Brunswick has solidified its position as a leader in sexual violence education and prevention work. Their evidence-based comprehensive approach has been highlighted by the White House, showcased by multiple professional associations, and featured by outlets including National Public Radio (NPR). She is frequently sought to present on social justice issues including sexual violence and racial and ethnic diversity, as well as managing campus unrest. Dr. McGinty is actively involved in several professional associations, including NASPA, National Association of College Business Officers (NACUBO), Council of Student Affairs for the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities (APLU), and is a member of the Universities Studying Slavery project (USS).
