Candidate Statement

I am pleased to submit my application materials to Volunteer Central and to the Region III Advisory Board. I have been a member of NASPA for almost 25 years.  I have also been fortunate enough to have served on the Advisory Board for Region III as its Treasurer for four years. My experience with my student affairs colleagues, through the NASPA organization has been priceless. I am richer for the relationships that I have built and the partnerships that I have made through the power of this member organization. I teach my students to volunteer their time in leadership roles as a matter of giving back to others. My volunteer work has always centered around giving back to my community and modeling this type of leadership for the students that I serve.  I have decided to apply to be the next Regional Director of Region III for the same reasons. I believe in the organization; I value the ways that everyone benefits from involvement and I celebrate the ways that NASPA supports ALL members of our communities.

Having served three different Regional Directors, I know the hard work that is required in this role. I also know the impact that this role can make on the Region and its participants. My goals for my three-year commitment is to support the members of our Region, serve NASPA nationally and help provide crisis leadership during this pandemic. NASPA is in one of the most challenging times in its history. I am committed to supporting the membership and the organization as we seek to find our collective way forward. I believe that my unique skillset has prepared me for leadership in this time.
