Vice President for Student Development
André spent 25 years in Enrollment Management at Biola University with increasing levels of responsibility. His last position in EM was as associate vice president of University Admissions in which he oversaw graduate and undergraduate admissions, international admissions, admissions marketing and data management, and Biola Youth Ministry. After 25 years in Enrollment Management at Biola, André was appointed vice president for student development in the summer of 2016. In this role, André leads a dynamic team of co-curricular staff who desire to provide authentic, meaningful learning experiences for students. Specifically, the five areas in the Division of Student Development include: Community Life, Spiritual Development, Student Wellness, Athletics and the Title IX office. André has served on a number of University committees and task forces. He is also an active participant in higher education professional organizations currently serving as vice chair of the Council of Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) Commission for Student Development and participating in NASPA’s New Vice President’s Institute (2017). André has his master’s degree from California State University at Fullerton and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Claremont Graduate University.
