NASPA Graduate Student Summer Internship

Have you ever thought about working for NASPA or learning how NASPA serves its members? Consider joining our team this upcoming summer as a NASPA Graduate Intern and learn the inner workings of NASPA from a student affairs point of view, gain insight into association management, and learn what it's like to work off-campus and stay connected to higher education. The selected intern will provide support and work collaboratively with all of the NASPA staff and departments, including educational programs, member engagement, membership, and communications. 


About

The ideal candidate for this virtual position will be available 30 hours per week for at least 8 consecutive weeks during the summer. Start and end dates are flexible; however, candidates should expect to start in late May/early June and conclude in late July/early August. A sample of the opportunities the NASPA Intern would engage in include:

  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of national conferences, institutes, and online professional development opportunities for NASPA members

  • Assist with advising and creating a team dynamic for undergraduate summer interns at NASPA

  • Develop content and programming for Careers in Student Affairs Month (CSAM)

  • Participate in the evaluation and reimaging of current programs 

Requirements

  • Master’s level graduate student who has completed (or will complete by Summer 2022) at least one year of a program in higher education, student affairs, or a related field

  • Possess strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment flexibility and adaptability are key components to success in this position

  • Experience and/or interest in association management

  • Experience and/or interest in content and/or program (conferences) development for student affairs professionals

  • Experience and/or interest in assisting with advising undergraduate NASPA summer interns, in collaboration with the intern supervisor

  • Interest in learning about NASPA

  • Current NASPA membership required at the time of acceptance

  • Previous involvement in the association is a plus, but not a requirement

Compensation

NASPA Summer Interns will receive:

  • $3000 stipend

  • One year extension of NASPA membership with membership upgrade including:
