Kayla (she/her) has served as the NASPA-AL graduate intern for years before taking on the Recognition Coordinator position and now State Sirector-Elect. Kayla currently works in Univeristy Programs at The University of Alabama as an Assistant Director. Kayla is a Ph.D. student at The University of Alabama, where she is obtaining a degree in Higher Education Administration. Her research interest are unrepresented populations, HBCUs, FSL, and students with disabilities. Kayla received a bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education from Jackson State University. Before starting her master’s degree at The University of Alabama in Higher Education Administration, Kayla served as a high school history teacher in her home state of Mississippi.
