Updates from Region III Director, Jeanine Ward-Roof

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you will join us for the annual Region III Summer Symposium in Austin Texas, June 9-12, 2013.  (View the link on this page to register and view the schedule.)  The committee has done an excellent job of creating a conference schedule and inviting speakers (Kevin Kruger, Beverly Chiodo, Vicky Triponey, and John Lowery) who will challenge us and help us determine the best ways to address the hot topics we are all trying to manage on our own campus.

Thanks to the committee and our Co-Chairs (Elizabeth With and Rusty Jergins) for all of their work to prepare the symposium and I hope you will join us as we discuss hot topics in the heart of Texas!

Sincerely,

Jeanine Ward-Roof

Region III is the organizational vehicle to accomplish NASPA's mission within the Southeastern United States and selected international venues (encompassing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and the international countries of Bermuda, Bulgaria, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates). Our regional challenge is to fulfill the national mission by offering professionally relevant and personally meaningful activities to NASPA members in our geographic area. This relates to the range of professional levels, from senior level student affairs professionals to mid-level and new colleagues. Region III leadership strives to ensure that national initiatives inform our regional activities and find expression in our ongoing growth, development, and contributions as student affairs professionals.

We carry out our regional activities through conferences, institutes, publications, technology, networks and other opportunities that promote personal and professional learning and colleagueship. All are designed to help us work efficiently so we engage in state-of-the-art practices that promote organizational effectiveness and student learning and development. Simultaneously, Region III leadership strives to provide professional enrichment opportunities that enhance our contributions to the profession.
