Foundation President-Elect Barbara Hancock Snyder
Barbara Hancock Snyder has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Utah since 1999. She previously served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of Nebraska at Kearney from 1988-99 and in various positions in the Dean of Students Office at Iowa State University from 1975-88. At Utah, she is responsible for a comprehensive Student Affairs Division including Residential Living, Enrollment Management, Student Development and the Dean of Students Office. She serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs' Academic Leadership Team. She teaches graduate courses in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy.
Dr. Snyder received her B.S. from The Ohio State University, her M.S. in Counseling from St. Cloud State University and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Iowa State University. She has served three terms on the board of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and is President-Elect of the NASPA Foundation Board. She is currently on the board of the National Association of State Colleges and Land Grant Universities (NASULGC) as well as past chair of the Council on Student Affairs for that organization.
Barbara Snyder is widely recognized for her expertise in national public policy, Greek affairs, and executive compensation. She has presented countless programs and is asked to speak regularly on issues important to students and to Student Affairs.
