Make a Gift
Doris Ching and Ed Whipple at the 2006 Foundation Reception in Washington, DC.
Every donor can help shape the future of student affairs through a tax-deductible contribution to the NASPA Foundation. A gift of any size will enable the Foundation to expand the support it has given to new and innovative programs which inform us and prepare us for our future in higher education.
Donors may consider a variety of designations for their gifts:
- Diamond Club membership: pledging $600 or more per year for five years (or any payment schedule totaling $3,000 in five years);
- Pillars of the Profession membership: Pillars are designated by the NASPA Foundation Board. Eligible candidates must be nominated by a NASPA member and at least $2,000 must be contributed in the nominee's name prior to being designated a Pillar. All Pillars are recognized at a reception at the annual conference.
- Annual Pledge: an Annual or Single-Occasion Gift Pledge form can be used to make an annual pledge in a set amount for a specific number of years. In addition, annual donations can be made using the space provided on the NASPA Membership Renewal Form.
- Royalties Pledge: Authors may designate a portion of their royalties from publications. Copies of the appropriate documents naming the NASPA Foundation must be filed with the Foundation Office.
- Single Occasion Gift: Donations will be accepted in any amount at any time. For convenience, a NASPA member may make a donation on the Membership Renewal Form.
- Bequests: Naming the NASPA Foundation as a beneficiary of any insurance policy or in your final will and testament is possible; copies of the appropriate documents naming the NASPA Foundation must be filed with the Foundation Office. Membership is granted in the Diamond Club if the donation is $3,000 or more.
- Restricted Gifts: Donors may offer gifts as unrestricted and for the general use of the Foundation, or designate their gifts to support the following restricted endowments:
- Melvene Hardee Fund: supports the Dissertation of the Year Award;
- James Rhatigan Fund: supports research on the history and philosophy of student affairs;
- Robert H. Shaffer Fund: supports a stipend for the tenured faculty member who receives the annual Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member.
