A Restorative Justice approach to problem student behaviors can be an effective disciplinary intervention; however, it is not an easy one.  Value and belief systems impact the acceptance of this disciplinary approach and the necessary investment of time to follow through with the sanction is extensive. Students enter the process with trepidation. The presenters will use Twynam’ s (2008)Decision Making Framework for Student Judicial Affairs to demonstrate when and why a restorative justice intervention is appropriate and will also present the challenges of the approach.  Two students who went through the process will discuss the experience from their perspective.
